Net2Phone, Inc. Wednesday announced that Sprint will trial Net2Phone's Voice over IP technology and international network for international consumer long distance calls to Asia. The service, called Sprint Callternatives, will originate, carry and terminate consumer long distance calls to Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Thailand, and Japan.
"We're very excited to work with Sprint on these Internet telephony solutions," said Clifford Sobel, Chairman of Net2Phone. "We expect Sprint Callternatives to be a very successful campaign and hope to continue the relationship with Sprint after this market trial is complete."

As part of the trial, Net2Phone will be creating a dedicated customer service operation, 24 hours per day 7 days a week, to assist customer inquires in three languages; Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean. In addition, Net2Phone's advanced billing technology will allow Sprint Callternatives customers to view their telephone accounts in real time from the Net2Phone web site (www.net2phone.com).
This trial with Sprint enables Net2Phone to expand its IP services to more countries around the world. By creating a worldwide IP telephony network, Net2Phone is able to capitalize on deregulating markets and begin offering more low-cost and value-added services in countries that become open to competition.
