Noski Named AT&T Chief Financial Officer - Company Operations

Cambridge Telcom Report, Dec 13, 1999

AT&T Thursday announced the appointment of Charles H. Noski, 47, as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer. Noski succeeds Daniel E. Somers, 51, who was named president and chief executive officer of AT&T Broadband and Internet Services.

Noski was president and chief operating officer of Hughes Electronics Corporation.

"I've known and worked with Chuck Noski for a long time and believe his financial and management talents, combined with solid strategic thinking, make him ideally suited to be CFO as we execute our growth strategy," said C. Michael Armstrong, chairman and chief executive officer of AT&T. "In addition to strong operating and acquisition skills, he brings valuable experience in the global telecommunications and video businesses."

Noski will report to Armstrong and will be a member of AT&T's Operations Group, which is the company's senior-most leadership council.

Noski joined Hughes as corporate vice president and controller in 1990 from Deloitte & Touche, where he was supervising partner for its services to Hughes and other high-technology companies, and was National Director for the firm's aerospace and defense practice. In 1992 he was appointed corporate senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was elected vice chairman in 1996, remaining as chief financial officer, and was appointed president in 1997.

Born in Eureka, Calif., Noski received his BS degree in business administration, magna cum laude, from California State University, Northridge, where he also received a MS degree in accounting. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children.
