US LEC Announces Enhanced Toll-Free Service - Company Business and Marketing

US LEC Corp., a switch-based competitive local exchange carrier, Wednesday announced a new addition to its product line. US LEC now provides the advantage of enhanced Toll-free Service to its customers.

US LEC's enhanced Toll-free Service provides new features giving customers more options when choosing US LEC's Toll-free service, or when adding to existing US LEC Toll-free service. It allows for nationwide origination, and it permits US LEC's Toll-free numbers to be terminated to any phone number in areas where US LEC provides service. The service also features Basic Routing service including Time of Day, Day of Week, Holidays and % of Traffic routing. Customers electing this service may choose one number for nationwide toll-free service, and that number can be listed with the national toll-free directory.

"US LEC's new enhanced Toll-free Service is intended to make our current customers even more pleased with our services, and to make it easier for prospective customers to switch to US LEC," said Jeff Blackey, US LEC Vice President of Marketing. "With enhanced Toll-free, US LEC's customers will also benefit from an integrated billing system with one invoice for all our services, as well as around-the-clock customer support."

US LEC currently offers local, long-distance, data and enhanced services to customers in selected markets in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Mississippi and South Carolina. In addition, US LEC is currently certified to provide telecommunications services in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Kentucky, Delaware and New Jersey. US LEC's network is comprised of fifteen Lucent 5ESS AnyMedia digital switches in Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro/Winston Salem, Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, Orlando, Miami, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Richmond, Birmingham and Philadelphia, in addition to its Alcatel MegaHub 600ES switch in Charlotte. The Company primarily serves telecommunications-intensive customers including businesses, universities, financial institutions, professional service firms and practices, hospitals, enhanced service providers, Internet service providers, hotels, and government agencies and had over 375,000 Equivalent Access Lines* in service on the US LEC network as of October 31, 1999.
