FlashNet Set to Bring High-Speed Internet Access to Subscribers - Company Business and Marketing

Cambridge Telcom Report, July 12, 1999

Through its new Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service, FlashNet Communications (Nasdaq: FLAS) customers will soon have access to one of the fastest Internet connections possible. FlashNet is beginning limited roll out of DSL service this month in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It will be available in additional markets later this year.

DSL can offer FlashNet business and residential customers Internet connections more than 50 times faster than traditional 28.8K analog modems. That means download times for data, graphics, audio and video files will be reduced from minutes to mere seconds.

Internet users can be automatically connected as soon as they turn on their computers -- without interference from telephone and fax machines that share the same phone line. Customers will need only one line to work on the Internet and talk on the phone at the same time.

"FlashNet's DSL service will increase the productivity of those customers looking for a dedicated Internet connection and substantially faster download speeds," says Scott Leslie, president of FlashNet Communications.

"We're focused on meeting the needs of each of our customer segments. Like our Free PC program, our DSL service is part of our commitment to deliver customers the most innovative services and programs possible for Internet access," Leslie adds.

Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area, FlashNet Communications is one of the largest Internet service providers in the United States, serving consumer and small-business customers nationwide. FlashNet is a pioneer in offering free, refurbished PCs to new subscribers with a two or three year subscription. They were also an early pioneer of unlimited use, flat-rate pricing. FlashNet is a leader in providing safe Internet service for families, businesses and schools. For more information, visit FlashNet's Web site at www.flash.net or call (800) FLASH20.
