ACT Teleconferencing, Inc., a full-service global provider of audio, video, data and Internet conferencing services, Wednesday announced that William A. Muller has been appointed Director of Video and Internet Strategy for North America. He will also serve as Operations Director of ACT's new Eastern U.S. Division, incorporating the Company's New York and Dallas operations centers.
Muller has an extensive teleconferencing background, previously serving as Conferencing Services Manager for Ernst & Young, LLP. He is currently the Chairperson of PictureTel User Group's (PUG) Desktop Videoconferencing Special Interest Group (SIG), and is a well-known speaker at various industry events. In his role as Conferencing Services Manager, Muller was responsible for introducing Ernst & Young's VideoNet (video conferencing) and ActionCall (audio conferencing) networks. He also coordinated the initial deployment of desktop video conferencing for the company's video telecommuters.

Prior to Ernst & Young, Muller was a Vice President for Voice Communication Services at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. In this role, he managed voice processing, teleconferencing and voice customer services, while deploying an international video conference network for Chase Manhattan's money centers.
As Director of Video and Internet Strategy and Eastern U.S. Operations Director, Muller will have overall responsibility for ACT's global accounts division, video and audio operations for its New York and Dallas locations, and will participate on the strategic planning committee for North American operations.
