Telefonica, through its Internet Service Provider(ISP) Teleline, Monday began providing free Internet access at higher levels of quality and speed than those included in similar offers by other Spanish telecoms operators, and with immediate availability.
Teleline, an affiliate of Telefonica Interactivea, was founded in 1995 and is the leader in the Spanish residential market for Internet access. In addition to free access to the Web, it will provide a 5-Mega Website, a POP3 electronic mailbox with unlimited capacity and customer service via telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Unlike other offers now in the market, this one implies no commitment on the part of the customer, who will not have to sign any contract or provide paperwork of any kind.
The customers who accept this free offer will have access to a broad package of value-added services which are oriented towards leisure time and professional activities. With this offer, Teleline, the ISP of Telefonica Interactive, expects to consolidate its leadership in the residential market for internet access in Spain.
Telefonica Interactive has been working for several months on this offer, which is part of Telefonica's overall strategy of the past several years of putting Internet within the reach of all Spaniards and providing them with access to new technologies.
Teleline will reinforce its commitment to its current paying customers by offering them more services, contents, quality and speed. These services, which will include multimedia (audio, video, etc.), will also have content for children, students, young people, families, etc. They will have specific services and information about travel, vacations, etc., as well as on-line games, multimedia e-mail, (with voice, data and images), contests, prizes, etc. Teleline will also offer services for various sorts of professional people, with specialized advice (fiscal, legal, real estate, medical, educational, etc.)
In order to do this, Teleline has excellent technical equipment and human resources, which work towards the goal of offering our clients the best and most complete Internet access in the market.
Teleline is a service provided by Telefonica SCR, an affiliate of Telefonica Interactivea. At present, Teleline has 110,000 customers, making it a leader in the Spanish market for Internet accesss from the home.
