Taiwan Selects Unisys for Advanced Direct Broadcasting Satellite Customer Service Facility - SpaceTel Taiwan contracts with Unisys Taiwan - Company Business and Marketing

Unisys Taiwan, Ltd. and SpaceTel Taiwan, Ltd. (http://www.spacetel.net) Thursday announced a one hundred million dollar plus contract award from SpaceTel Taiwan, Ltd. for ten years of Customer Services Center (CSC) support by Unisys for the SpaceTel Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) service.

Under this contract Unisys will design, build, and operate the dedicated Customer Services Center scheduled for launch in early 2000. The joint team has been working together to design this 21st century Customer Service Center for four months following SpaceTel's selection of Unisys.

The CSC will manage all customer interactions for SpaceTel on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis. Services included 1) DBS television and internet service activation, 2)customer account management and service offering updates, 3)account billing, reconciliation and collection, and 4) account and service problem resolution. In the future the CSC will be expanded to provide satellite based multi-media services such as Advanced Internet Multimedia (AIM), interactive distance learning and other similar services.

This project is the first end-to-end project of this magnitude in Asia as well as the largest outsourcing agreement ever undertaken in Taiwan. Through this partnership, SpaceTel will achieve its mission of fast time-to-market, maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and leverage Unisys's expertise in technology and services. Adding SpaceTel outsourcing contract to Unisys's portfolio puts Unisys on the fast track to become the world leader in both outsourcing and Customer Relationship Management areas.

SpaceTel Taiwan, Ltd. is owned by Taiwan Digital Broadcast Services building a Direct Broadcasting Satellite (DBS) television and music broadcasting system called "the DREAM Broadcasting System" to serve Taiwan market. SpaceTel's roll out plan will first address DTH (Direct To Home) television, Pay-Per-View television, distance learning, and financial news services. In the future, SpaceTel will expand its offering to include high- speed internet connectivity, interactive financial market data services, interactive education programming broadcasting, e-commerce and other similar application which make use of SpaceTel's unique technical and business development experience.
