Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedFrance Telecom's ISP, Euronet Selects Informix's Dynamic Server to Manage its Internet Service - Company Business and Marketing
Cambridge Telcom Report, Oct 25, 1999
Euronet, the independent subsidiary of France Telecom, has awarded Informix Software, a contract to build a high availability account management solution for its Wanadoo Internet service. The solution, Informix Dynamic Server running on a clustered Unix server provides a comprehensive, authentication and account administration system for Wanadoo's subscription base.
This new project builds on the existing four-year relationship between France Telecom and Informix. Euronet chose Informix because of Dynamic Server's scalability, reliability and price performance ratio. The technology is designed to grow as the volume of traffic through the provider increases, without a reduction in the quality of service to the end user. It will also identify which services individuals and organisations have pre-paid subscriptions to and manage their access. This includes verification of domain names, email addresses and dial up accounts.
