Glenayre Announces Strategic Alliance With Diginet For Unified Messaging Applications - Glenayre Technologies, DigiNet Communications - Company Business and Marketing

Unified Messaging Will Introduce Next Generation Messaging Application Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS) announced Thursday a strategic alliance to develop Unified Messaging Technologies and applications with DigiNet Communications Limited a leading network systems integrator in developing communications, technologies and professional networking services in China, Hong Kong and the Far East.

DigiNet will launch unified Messaging applications based on the Glenayre Enhanced Services Platform. As a part of this alliance, DigiNet will adopt Glenayre's applications for greater China. The service will be called 1-Num and it will integrate voice and data messaging services to Internet subscribers so that Internet users can have visual voice mail as well as free email. In addition to the unified messaging application DigiNet intends to introduce Constant Touch Personal Number Service, Multi Network and Multi- media messaging and notification to mobile terminals. DigiNet already has agreements with ISP/ICP operators in major cities across China to provide these unified messaging services.

Glenayre's unified messaging application will be modified by DigiNet to include Chinese characters and text to speech for their subscribers. These services will allow mobile subscribers the ability to perform multi-media messaging (voice, email, fax, text, SMS) services across both mobile and Internet networks.
