Juno Online Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JWEB), a leading provider of Internet-related services, announced Wednesday that it is teaming with Efficient Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:EFNT), a leading supplier of broadband Internet access products, to make Juno's new broadband Internet service, Juno Express, easier for consumers to use.
Members of Juno Express will be able to use Efficient's state-of-the-art digital subscriber line (DSL) modems to get the most out of their high-speed access to the Internet. Juno Express is provided by Juno through a relationship with Covad, one of the largest national DSL providers, and is currently being pilot tested in selected markets. Juno plans to roll the service out in markets throughout the country during the year 2000.

"Juno Express is a terrific consumer DSL product that will make Juno a major player in the high-speed Internet access marketplace. We're thrilled to be part of this project," said Jeff Bergstrom, director of channel programs at Efficient Networks. "The combined strength of Juno and Efficient Networks will help pave the way for rapid deployment of new DSL services that leverage the ease-of-use features of our SpeedStream equipment."
As part of its agreement with Efficient, Juno will become a member of the Efficient SpeedStream Partner (ESP) program. The ESP program allows providers of Internet services to offer affordable and reliable DSL customer premise equipment (CPE) to consumers and businesses. The industry-leading SpeedStream DSL CPE product line includes easy-to-use routers and modems designed to provide the best installation and online experience available. Through the ESP program, Efficient enables Internet service providers, competitive local exchange carriers, and value-added resellers to successfully grow their businesses in the broadband communications market.
