Ericsson's new ADSL line card strengthens broadband offering - Company Business and Marketing

(NASDAQ:ERICY) Tuesday at SUPERCOMM 2000, Ericsson introduced a high-density ADSL line card, further strengthening its broadband offering.

The line card leverages Texas Instruments' (TI) TNETD4000C solution, the industry's first production quad-port ADSL chipset. Ericsson's new line card also supports Annex B compliant solutions for ADSL over ISDN, as well as a G.dmt Annex A and G.lite compliant ADSL over POTS.

The close relationship between Ericsson and TI has yielded a comprehensive ADSL solution for Ericsson's integrated access node ENGINE Access Ramp, based on TI's programmable digital signal processor (DSP)-based technology in both ends. A compelling attribute of the solution is its world-class ADSL interoperability at both the customer premises and central office ends of the wire. Ericsson's new ENGINE Access Ramp offers 30 multimode ADSL ports per line card.
