GlobeSpan Joins Forces as a Founding Member of the MPLS Forum; DSL Leader Aids in Accelerating Adoption of Advanced IP Network Technology - Company Business and Marketing

GlobeSpan, Inc., a leading provider of integrated circuit, software and systems designs for digital subscriber line (DSL) applications, is pleased to announce the formation of the MPLS Forum. As a founding member of this industry-wide association, GlobeSpan plans to accelerate the interoperability and deployment of Multi-Protocol Label Switching and its associated technologies.

MPLS protocol is a critical component for extending best-effort IP networks to include support for traffic engineering, quality of service (QoS), and virtual private networks (VPN). Participating in the MPLS Forum will enable GlobeSpan and other members to facilitate worldwide interoperability by sponsoring events at various universities and member "connect-a-thons". Via its trade shows and conferences, the MPLS Forum will focus on educating the market on the advantages and capabilities of MPLS and its associated technologies.
