Through Intuit's Web-based billing service, which uses CheckFree's E-Bill service, millions of AT&T's customers are now able to easily manage their bills using the same personal finance tools many consumers use to manage the rest of their financial lives. Consumers can sign up for this service on Quicken.com at www.Quicken.com/bills or can get more information on accessing this service through Quicken at www.intuit.com/bills.
> "Consumers are rapidly embracing e-finance and are ready for the speed, convenience and ease of use made possible by receiving and paying bills online," said Mark Goines, senior vice president of Intuit's consumer division. "Intuit is excited to team with a leader like AT&T to provide best-of-class online billing functionality to consumers nationwide."Using Intuit's online billing service in Quicken and on Quicken.com, AT&T residential long distance customers are now able to view a summary of their bill and simply click to download the bill amount and due date into Quicken or click to pay the bill through Quicken.com. Quicken and Quicken.com bill summaries provide users with a link to AT&T's online billing site, where the entire AT&T bill can be reviewed in detail. Users can then review previous AT&T bills, sort their calls, request credit for questionable calls, use AT&T Anywho to find information on calls, update their AT&T account, order new services and submit e-mail inquiries to customer service - all from the comfort of their computers.
"More and more of our customers are visiting att.com and opting to do business with us electronically," said Michael Tempora, vice president of AT&T consumer billing strategy. "They like the control, flexibility and cost savings of online billing and online customer service. By offering bills online through Quicken and Quicken.com, together we provide an attractive alternative to sitting down and writing out bills every month."
Intuit's Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment Service Intuit's new EBPP service is the first Web-based bill presentment and payment service to provide a central point of access for consumers to view, track and pay all their bills from the same site they use to manage the rest of their financial lives. Using this service, consumers can also pay anyone in the U.S. and will soon be able to view any of their other bills online, whether they originate as electronic or "hard copy" paper bills.
Intuit has been supporting online bill payment and presentment through Quicken since 1997 and last year launched its comprehensive Web-based service on Quicken.com and will soon offer it on other portals. Intuit's bill payment and presentment service is part of My Accounts, a new suite of services that allows consumers to view and manage their finances anywhere using a Web browser. My Accounts is a personalized financial "dashboard" that allows consumers to view and pay all their bills, manage multiple investment portfolios and view credit card and bank account balances -- all from a single Web site.
In addition to the AT&T residential long distance bill, Quicken and Quicken.com customers can "pay everyone" including all monthly bills through services provided by participating financial institutions and payment providers including CheckFree. Intuit is a participant in the CheckFree Guarantee Program that limits consumer liability and protects against unauthorized transactions or processing delays.
