AT&T Wireless Services will again lead the industry in changing the way people use their wireless phones by introducing AT&T Digital PocketNetsm service.
AT&T Digital PocketNet service provides unlimited wireless access to over 40 wireless Internet web sites at no extra charge when customers purchase one of two new wireless Internet phones and sign up for any AT&T Wireless Services digital voice plan. The new service offers customers access to nearly twice as many web sites than its competitors and provides a Personal Web Site for every subscriber.
AT&T Wireless Services customers who want additional on-line wireless capability, such as e-mail, personal organizer services and access to the Internet portal Excite, can select from two flat-rate, all-you-can-use pricing plans.

"Introduced just three weeks after the country's largest IPO, our new AT&T Digital PocketNet service offers a highly personalized way for people to bring their wireless phone and the Internet together."
AT&T Digital PocketNet service is offered at three levels when combined with any AT&T Wireless Services digital voice plan:
-- Free -- The Basic Plan includes more than 40 sites designed specifically for use on a wireless Internet phone. Customers receive the AT&T Personal Web Site, which serves as both their personal portal site and as a place to personalize their wireless phone experience.
-- $6.99 per month -- The Plus Plan gives customers access to AT&T Digital PocketNet e-mail and faxing services (150 fax pages per month included) along with all of the Basic services.
Customers can gain access to their existing AT&T WorldNet e-mail, Excite Inbox e-mail, and other e- mail boxes supporting POP3 (Post Office Protocol) access.
-- $14.99 per month -- The Premium Plan provides access to Calendar, Contacts and To-Do lists while including all of the Basic and Plus services. The Premium Plan also allows customers to gain filtered text access to any web site by entering the URL on their phone or AT&T Personal Web Site. Soon, customers will be able to download software to synchronize these services with most major organizers at no extra charge. And customers receive access to the Excite Mobile portal, which features additional e-mail, organizer functions, and web content.
AT&T Digital PocketNet service gives customers their own AT&T Personal Web Site AT&T Digital PocketNet service provides customers with their own secure AT&T Personal Web Site, allowing customers to share Internet services between their wireless phone and any Internet accessible computer.
The web site's "My Page" feature gives customers access to personalized information, such as weather, news, and stock quotes. If customers have selected the Plus or Premium plan, they can manage their e-mail, calendar, contacts and to-do lists from their wireless phone or Personal Web Site - providing the first, true bridge between wireless phones and the Internet.
"AT&T Digital PocketNet service will change the standard for accessing the wireless Internet," said Mohan Gyani, president and CEO for AT&T Wireless Services. "The unlimited access to the wireless Internet enables more people to obtain information in over 3000 cities across the U.S."
Wide variety of services available through more than 40 wireless web sites AT&T Digital PocketNet service fundamentally changes the way people use the wireless Internet with its wide variety of e-commerce, informational, and entertainment services. ABC-NEWS.com, Barnes & Noble.com, DLJdirect, eBay, ESPN.com, E*TRADE, MapQuest, TD Waterhouse, The Weather Channel's weather.com and Travelocity are just some of the more than 40 sites designed for AT&T's Digital PocketNet service. With these sites, customers can shop for books, trade stocks, participate in on-line auctions, find directions, make flight reservations, and check news, sports, and weather.
New wireless Internet-ready phones combine rich features with ease of use Customers signing up for AT&T Digital PocketNet service can use either the Ericsson R280LX or Mitsubishi MobileAccess T250 wireless phones. Both handsets are Digital multi-network phones which use the AT&T Wireless IP (Internet Protocol) Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) network for data services and the TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) network for digital voice services. The Ericsson R280LX has a suggested list price of $99.99; the Mitsubishi MobileAccess T-250 lists for $199.99.
TDMA technology, offered by AT&T Wireless Services, is the most deployed digital standard in the Americas, covering 253 million potential customers across the United States and has more than 17 million subscribers across the U.S. and Canada. The AT&T Wireless IP network uses CDPD technology that provides data speeds up to 19.2 kbps and is available in more than 3,000 cities across the nation.
