Derailment Investigation Procedures - Track Workshops that Deliver - Jim Blaze to conduct workshop - Brief Article
Railway Track and Structures, July, 2001
September 20-21, 2001 Omaha, NE
Many times derailments occur for which there are no easy explanations or probable cause. In addition, difficulties are experienced in trying to determine the cause of derailments without having documented investigative data. To determine the cause of a derailment (or even a near miss), standardized investigative procedures are essential to obtain the necessary evidence.
This course has been developed to prepare you for finding the cause of derailments and thereby reducing or preventing their future occurrence. The lectures and student material focus on Derailment Investigation Procedures that can be used by all sizes and types of railroad transportation organizations. The class includes classroom lecture, manual, demonstrations, photographs, drawings and a large number of case studies.
This two-day workshop is ideal for Senior Management, Department Heads, Senior Staff, Risk Managers and all members of a Derailment Investigating Team (normally comprised of an Operating Officer, a Mechanical Officer and an Engineering Officer with back-ups). Recent students have even included Financial Officers.
Workshop Includes:
* Taking charge: first at the scene
* Data collection procedure
* Operating evidence
* FRA Section 49 Part 225
* More!
$42500 2-day workshop per person/limited availability
