The Fault Mapper[TM] Model CA7024 from AEMC[R] Instruments is a handheld, alphanumeric, time domain reflectometer cable length meter and fault locator, The unit measures the length of power and communication cables and indicates the distance to open or short circuit faults to a range of 6,000 ft.
Results are displayed on a highly-visible, electroluminescent backlit LCD. The tester includes an internal library of standard cable types enabling accurate measurement without the need to enter velocity of propagation information; produces an audible tone, which can be used for cable tracing; has a BNC pigtail cable with alligator clips and 4 x 1.5-volt AA batteries.
