KI2: Soft Tissue Neck and Back Injuries: Real or Not?
Dr. David Cooper, Orthopedic Surgeon, The Knee Center Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
One-third of everyone over age 30 has a positive MRI, with no history of any injury. When a soft tissue and disc injury occurs to the neck or lower back, it plagues not only the patient, but the claim examiner and the attorneys involved. This session will be invaluable for anyone interested in how to fairly and objectively evaluate soft tissue injuries to the neck and lower back. You'll learn about the anatomy and how to differentiate the truly injured from the symptom magnifier.
Double-Session!

Want to see a workers' compensation trial from start to finish? Using a mock hearing format, this seminar demonstrates a trial and appeal. You'll see how expert medical testimony is presented in a workers' compensation trial. During this double session, workers' comp attorneys will present testimony, and question and cross-examine shoulder experts. They'll try to uncover the truth about an injury by questioning the physicians on causation, the extent of disability and the ability of the claimant to return to work. Later, in part two of the session, the attorneys will present oral arguments on appeal. The audience will decide the case and have the opportunity to question the participants.
SEMINARS 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
