Richard T. Laughead has been promoted to vice president of accounting, and Lois Hogya to vice president of underwriting, Princeton Insurance Co. has announced. Laughead will be responsible for general accounting functions such as quarterly and year-end financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, actuarial and reinsurance support, and management reporting, the company said. He joined the firm in 1991 and was promoted to accounting manager in 1997. He replaces Andrea Kanefsky, who was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Hogya will manage underwriting operations for institutional and individual medical and health care businesses, as well as the activities of the company's direct-access call center. Hogya has been with the company since 1987. She fills the position vacated by Charles Lefevre who was promoted to senior vice president and COO.

Kanefsky will oversee the operation of the accounting and financial management departments, as well as information technologies and administration. "The medical malpractice market is turbulent now, and I welcome the opportunity to help chart the financial course of Princeton Insurance," she said, in a statement. Kanefsky joined the company in 1980 and has held increasingly demanding positions in the accounting department. She has served as vice president of accounting since 1993, and fills the position vacated by Emil E. DeVito, who retired.

As COO, Lefevre will be responsible for claims, underwriting and corporate and customer relations, including the call center, loss prevention/risk management, risk assessment and data reporting, marketing and communications. He joined the company in 1983 and held leadership positions in the claims department before he was transferred to vice president of underwriting in 1997.
