Benefits

Risk & Insurance, Nov, 2004

First Data Corp., has introduced a multipurpose card to offer consumers more options in paying for health care. One of these options is a line of credit on their health care card.

Employers, administrators, payers and employees all benefit from issuing multipurpose cards, according to First Data. Health care programs also become more efficient and are no longer hampered by paper-intensive manual processes.

Employees avoid the need to submit receipts and claims forms and the wait time for reimbursement. Providers cut down on paperwork as well. The card was launched in response to the growth in consumer-directed health care plans.
