A U.S. Department of Labor

Risk & Insurance, June, 1999 by Len Strazewski

A U.S. Department of Labor initiative aims to partner companies that have successful child-care programs with those interested in starting programs of their own. Federal officials are looking for those with successful child-care experiences to volunteer to mentor businesses that are just beginning the process.

"That way, the beginners can avoid the pitfalls and save on costs," said Labor Secretary Alexis M. Herman in a written release.
