New York-based Dow Jones & Co. has launched a Web site that gives business people 24-hour Internet access to industry news, stocks, and links to other sites. The service (www.dowjones.com) is free and offers an array of online functions. Stock quotes can be obtained from the site and are updated every 15 to 20 minutes. Users can choose from an index of more than 20 specific industries and view news, research, and resources of that industry. Visitors can do a keyword search through 2000 Web sites, press releases, Dow Jones business news, and The Wall Street Journal interactive edition. They may also search 250 news and business publications.

The site also offers daily full-text news from Dow Jones business news and world news from The Associated Press, and highlights from The Wall Street Journal. Users who register have access to features that allow them to customize their homepage. Registered users can also create a portfolio and track up to 30 U.S. stocks or mutual funds.

In the future, dowjones.com plans to develop the site as a resource for business people by adding industry channels and additional e-commerce options.
