The International Risk Management Institute Inc. has released Captives and the Management of Risk. The guide is designed to cover the basics for newcomers to the captive scene. and can be used as a refresher course. It can also be used as a useful introduction to the concept for the CFO of an organization considering the alternative risk transfer approach. Kate Westover, president of Captive Advisory Services, is the author of this reference tool, which breaks down the complex topic into 13 chapters. It covers topics such as alternative risk financing mechanisms, insurable risk-managing risk and operating a captive.
