Willis Group Holdings has announced it will occupy a new headquarters building in London's insurance district.
The high-tech facility, which will be known as the Willis Building, will be located at 51 Lime St., across from the Lloyd's Building. Willis will occupy the 23-story tower, which has about 320,000 square feet of space. The brokerage firm will sublet 100,000 square feet. Occupation is planned for 2007.
"The Willis Building will be truly iconic, with a fantastic working environment and the latest technology," said Joe Plumeri, chairman and CEO. "It meets all our needs, for today and the future. By bringing all our London-based associates together, we will be able to work more efficiently, communicate faster and reinforce our "one team" approach. And, it put us precisely where we belong--at the heart of the insurance capital of the world. Along with Lloyd's, Willis will define the "Insurance District."
