Risk & Insurance, May, 2003

Marsh Inc., a division of the Marsh & McLennan Cos., has enhanced its Web-based risk management information system with the addition of interview-format data entry, automatic report scheduling capabilities, an insurance policy management module and expanded e-mail distribution features, among other new services. The updated system, STARS Web 7.0, is designed to help risk, operations and financial executives assess their organization's risk profile, identify cost drivers, reduce expenses and manage their cost of risk. It is also designed to consolidate risk data into a single database, which can be accessed by selected personnel throughout the organization. These individuals also can use the system to manage claims data for specific departments or operations. The new features include: interview-format data entry, direct processing of first reports of injury and file attachment capabilities.
