Insurance Online

Risk & Insurance, August, 2001

The Atlantic Mutual Cos., New York, has added Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) compliance and loss forecasting tools to the company's online risk management Web site, RiskPoint.com (www.riskpoint.com), which was initially launched in April 1999.

The OSHA Logs feature is designed to access current policyholder claims data, which can then be used to create an automated injury and illness record that conforms to OSHA record-keeping requirements. They also can be user-edited to designate specific injuries or illnesses per OSHA requirements.

Loss Triangles offer policyholders the ability to create a customized electronic loss history that includes five years of data so that the user can see how losses for workers' comp, automobile, and general liability have developed overtime. The Loss Triangle reports also provide the user with loss development factors that can be used to forecast future loss development or help determine the effectiveness of specific risk management programs.

Target Capital, an Avon, Conn.-based commercial property and casualty, professional liability, and specialty lines insurer, has launched a new Web site (www.target-capital.com) In addition to information about the company and its products, programs, partnerships, and underwriting and claims management services, the new site features tools for agents and brokers, and information on loss control and risk management.

Agents and brokers can download insurance applications, supplemental applications and specimen policy forms for all available coverages.

The risk management and loss control section of the Web site features downloadable articles from Target Capital experts and Target Capital business partners. Sample articles include ADA and Defenses to Reasonable Accommodation and Terminations Without Liability: A Step-by-Step Guide.

The site also features a useful links page, and visitors can also sign up for a free e-newsletter and read the often humorous employee bios.
