SETH D. FREUDBERG has been appointed president and CEO of the Bermuda and Barbados-based offshore operations of United National Group Ltd, the company has announced. The Bermuda operation is known as the Wind River Insurance Co. (Bermuda), Ltd. The Barbados unit operates as Wind River Insurance Company (Barbados) Ltd.

Freudberg previously served as president and CEO of United National's U.S. operations. Freudberg was appointed after expressing a personal interest in pursuing "attractive underwriting opportunities" in the region, the company also said. William Schmidt, formerly chief underwriting officer of U.S. operations, has been appointed president and CEO of the U.S. operations. United National, headquartered in George Town, Grand Cayman, is a specialty property and casualty insurance carrier.
