Word & Brown, a distributor of group health insurance, has appointed GARY SMITH as regional vice president in Los Angeles, the firm has announced. Smith will be responsible for managing Word & Brown's key relationships with Los Angeles-area health brokers in researching, quoting, underwriting and enrolling group health insurance.

"Los Angeles-area brokers are very sophisticated and are extremely important to the California insurance market," said John Word III, co-founder and managing partner of Word & Brown, in a statement. "Gary's depth of experience and knowledge of the industry will play a key role in helping us to meet the needs of this very diverse market."
