History

The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) was established as a faculty of the University of New South Wales admitting its first MBA class in 1977. In 1999 it became a school of the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney. Today the AGSM is viewed worldwide as one of the leading business schools in Australia and Asia.

The AGSM is a dedicated postgraduate campus, located at the University of New South Wales, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, Australia. We are 15 minutes from the CBD and Harbour in one direction, and 5 minutes from ocean beaches in the other.

Programs

The full time MBA program gives you a depth of understanding across the core disciplines of management. It is a generalist, rather than a specialist degree. We balance theory with practical application, using the most current and relevant research. The full-time MBA can be completed in 15 or 18 months. Your first 2 terms will complete the core phase of the program, 10 courses and 3 integrative programs. The following 3 or 4 terms complete the elective phase, during which time you will select 12 courses from the broad range on offer. Students can apply for an internship or overseas exchange during the elective phase of the program.

Entry Requirements

For the full-time MBA

* An undergraduate degree

* GMAT score of at least 550 overall, 25 verbal

* At least 2 years professional/managerial work experience

* GPA of at least 2.0

* Verbal and written English skills--IELTS minimum 6.0 in each category, 6.5 overall; TOFEL minimum 600 overall, 5.0 written

Education Modes

The full-time MBA is taught face-to-face by AGSM faculty. A considerable amount of emphasis is placed on teamwork and you will complete projects and assignments both as a member and a leader of syndicate groups. You will complete 3 required Integrative Programs (IPs). These intensive courses show you how to solve real-world business problems using a multi-disciplinary approach. Career Services and Management Communication Skills programs support you as you identify and pursue new career opportunities.
