Leading hotel awards back in 2002 - Best Business Hotels In Asia Awards - Brief Article
Business Asia, Dec, 2001
NOMINATIONS ARE now open for the 2002 Best Business Hotels in Asia Awards.
Now in their fifth year, the Awards have quickly become the region's leading industry event, attracting the top names in Asia's five-star business hospitality sector.
Following on from their success in the 2001 Awards, The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai, has been announced as the venue for next year's gala Awards ceremony, which will be held on 3 September 2002. The Portman Ritz-Carlton won the categories of Overall Best Business Hotel in Asia, Best Business Hotel in China and Best Hotel Conference Facilities in Asia in last year's Awards.
Business Asia magazine first initiated the Awards in 1998. Its aim was to recognise the Asian region's leaders in business travel and hospitality. Since then, the Awards have gone from strength to strength, with thousands of votes received every year from readers across Asia. In 2001, more than 80 hotels made it to the finals, with 10,000 votes lodged in 18 different categories.
From 1999 onwards, leading financial news network Bloomberg Television have co-presented the Awards, significantly expanding its reach throughout Asia.
The categories for the 2002 Best Business Hotels in Asia Awards will be the Best Business Hotel in Australia; Best Business Hotel in China; Best Business Hotel in Hong Kong; Best Business Hotel in Indonesia; Best Business Hotel in India; Best Business Hotel in Japan; Best Business Hotel in Malaysia; Best Business Hotel in New Zealand; Best Business Hotel in the Philippines; Best Business Hotel in Singapore; Best Business Hotel in South Korea; Best Business Hotel in Thailand; Best Business Hotel in Taiwan; Best Business Hotel in Vietnam; Best New Hotel; Best Airport Hotel in Asia; and the Best Hotel Conference Facilities in Asia; and the Overall Best Business Hotel in Asia.
