Joint ventures to serve China - Port of Singapore Authority Corp
Business Asia, July 6, 1998
The Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) Corporation's second joint venture in China started this year following the successful establishment of a representative office in the country.
PSA's joint venture at China's Fuzhou Port will manage and operate existing container terminals at Qingzhou and Taijiang.
The corporation signed a contract for the venture with Hong Kong-based Ranki Development in April last year.
Group president of PSA Corporation Mr Khoo Teng Chye said a new deep-water container terminal would be developed at the port.
"It is the common vision of PSA and the Fuzhou Port Authority to develop Fuzhou into an advanced and efficient container port to serve the rapid economic and industrial growth in South China," Mr Khoo said.
