ASIAN CITIES occupy nearly one-third of a new ranking of the world's top 20 business travel cities in a survey compiled by website Wcities.com. Hong Kong (3), Tokyo (4), Singapore (10), Beijing (13), Osaka (15), Shanghai (16), Jakarta (18) and Kuala Lumpur (19) make the list. The report is based on city page requests made by tens of millions of visitors since the start of the year until September 2000. "The prevalence of Asian city destinations is evidence of the importance that Asia holds in the worldwide picture. With an increase in high technology, financial services and manufacturing, the Pacific Rim is increasingly on the business traveler's itinerary," Wcities has found.
