HQ gains for NSW - New South Wales in Focus - Brief Article
Business Asia, April, 2002
New South Wales' goal of becoming a leading site to base regional headquarters has received a significant boost, with Johnson & Johnson -- a world leader in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products -- choosing Sydney over Singapore for its Asia Pacific IT headquarters.
The move is expected to create 82 direct hi-tech jobs over the next five years and invest $10 million in North Ryde, site of the company's current Sydney operations.
Japanese firm Kyocera Mita, a subsidiary of the Kyocera Corporation, also expanded its Sydney office to become a regional headquarters in November last year.
As one of the world's largest manufacturers of copiers and computer printers, Kyocera Mita is located in Sydney's Silicon Corridor, stretching from North Ryde to North Sydney.
