Eight in running for airport job

Eight groups have submitted preliminary bids for the construction of an international airport in Hyderabad, capital of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
"The bidding process ... has been a success with eight globally renowned and high-profile Indian business houses with foreign consortia submitting their pre-qualification bids on February 15", said Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads, Buildings and Ports K. Vijayarama Rao.
The Hyderabad international airport project is estimated to cost 20 billion rupees (US$463.4 million). India currently has five international airports catering to foreign flights.
The minister said his government would complete evaluation of the pre-qualification bids within a month.
