AUSTRADE CHAIRMAN Ross Adler will be the keynote speaker at the up and coming Top Exporters Dinner in Melbourne later this month.
The former head of Santos Ltd will be joined by some of Victoria's leading exporters, as well as past winners from the Australian Export Awards, to toast the success and achievements of the State's traders. Managing director of Securency, Myles Curtis, winners of last year's Australian Emerging Exporter of the Year Award, will also attend as guest speaker.
The Top Exporters Dinner, which will be held at the Hotel Sofitel in Melbourne on August 30; is one of several lead-up events to the National Export Awards competition. The event is the second of two Top Exporters Dinners this year, the first taking place in Adelaide in June.
Other upcoming events in the 2001 Australian Export Awards schedule include a National Finalists Breakfast. The breakfast will be held in Canberra on November 20th and will aim to show a preview of this year's finalists in all categories.
The program will culminate in a gala dinner and Awards presentation on November 29, to be held in Brisbane.
The competition is now heating up in the 38th annual Australian Exports Awards, with application dates across all states closing at the end of this month. Winners in each state and territory category will automatically be in the running for the National Awards, which will be awarded at a gala dinner in Brisbane on November 29.
Categories in this year's competition include the: P&O Nedlloyd Agribusiness Award, the Arts and Entertainment Award, the IDP Education Australia Education Award, the Austrade Emerging Exporter Award, the HP Information and Communications Technology Award, the Australian Made Large Advanced Manufacturer Award, the Minerals Award, the Australia Post Regional Exporter of the Year Award, the Services Award, the Commonwealth Bank Small and Medium Business Manufacturer Award, the Austrade International Award and the overall DHL Australian Exporter of the Year Award. The Awards are jointly presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
