Losers - Stop Press - Nik Adli Nik Abdul Aziz jailed, accused of receiving military training in Afghanistan - Brief Article

Business Asia, Oct, 2001

The son of the spiritual adviser for Parti Islam SeMalaysia, the Malaysian Government's biggest opposition party, has been jailed for plotting to overthrow the Government.

Nik Adli Nik Abdul Aziz has been accused of receiving military training in Afghanistan in order to oust Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's Government and set up an Islamic state in parts of South-East Asia, including Indonesia and the Philippines, through violent means.

Aziz's family members, including his father, Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, has denied the charges, saying the Government has produced no evidence.
