InfoSpace Delivers Nextel Brazil's Mail
Communications Today, July 9, 2002
Wireless and Internet software and application services provider InfoSpace [INSP], which on Monday reiterated its financial guidance for the second quarter, is behind Nextel Brazil's NextelMail service that offers wireless access to e-mail and other enterprise information. Nextel Brazil is an operation of Nextel Communications [NXTL] wholly owned subsidiary NII Holdings.
InfoSpace's Corporate Email platform provides secure access from mobile devices to existing corporate messaging systems as well as multiple personal email accounts. It integrates directly with a wireless carrier's existing data infrastructure to provide enterprise operations with secure connections, enabling employees to view, reply, forward, send and delete e-mail, without installing and maintaining hardware and software at the corporate site. Users of InfoSpace's Corporate Email can configure the service themselves and set up alerts for personal or corporate e-mail messages, appointments and task reminders.
Bellevue, Wash.-based InfoSpace reiterated its previous guidance for second-quarter revenue of $31 million and a pro forma net loss of 2 cents a share. The company, which plans to announce its results for the April-June period on July 23, in May reported first-quarter revenues of $33.1 million and a pro forma net loss $7.5 million, or 2 cents a share.
