Verizon Files LD Bid In Virginia
Communications Today, August 2, 2002
Moving ahead with its goal to offer long-distance service in all of its home territories, Verizon Communications [VZ] Thursday filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission to offer interLATA long-distance service in Virginia.
Verizon already offers long-distance service in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The company has pending long-distance applications with the FCC for Delaware and New Hampshire and has said it plans to file applications to offer the service in its remaining home territories by the end of this year.
