Communications Today, August 13, 2002

Intelsat agreed to buy at least $10 million in Skystar 360E broadband VSAT equipment and services from Israel-based Gilat Satellite Networks [GILTF].

Gilat's U.S. subsidiary, Spacenet, was chosen by Intelsat's Global Service unit to provide the broadband satellite communications equipment and services by the end of 2003. Intelsat initially plans to use Gilat's technology to provide satellite-based broadband connectivity to service providers in Latin America.
