Williams Communications Posts 3Q Loss, Inks Deal With Boeing

Broadband network services provider Williams Communications Group [WCG] reported Thursday a 2001 third quarter loss of $268.3 million, or 55 cents a share, compared to a loss of $149.9 million, or 32 cents a share a year ago.
Analysts had projected the company to post a third-quarter loss of 55 cents a share, according to research firm Thomson Financial/First Call.
The company reported revenues of $297.8 million, a 42 percent increase over a year ago.
Williams also said Thursday that it has signed a 20-year telecommunications agreement with The Boeing Company [BA] for $267 million.
