Focal Communications Posts 3Q Loss, Cuts Outlook

Broadband services provider Focal Communications [FCOM] reported Tuesday a 2001 third-quarter loss of $63.7 million, or $1.04 per share, compared to a net loss of $29.5 million, or 49 cents per share, a year ago.
The company said third-quarter revenues increased to $85 million from $65 million a year ago.
Focal said its expects fourth-quarter revenues to be in the range of $82 million to $85 million, down from the $92 million to $98 million it said in previous estimates.
