Globecomm Inks Two Contracts

Globecomm Systems Europe Limited, a UK-based subsidiary of Globecomm Systems Inc. [GCOM] said Monday it has won two contacts from British Sky Broadcasting to provide a new satellite uplink terminal and upgrade existing earth stations in the UK.
The company said the two contracts are worth $3.3 million.
Under terms of the first contract, Globecomm said it will design, install and commission a dual-antenna BSS-band satellite uplink terminal, including two 8.1-meter 17/11 GHz antennas with dual 1:7 redundant high power amplifiers and upconverters.

The second contract calls for Globecomm to provide equipment for BskyB's Chilworth 11 and 14 facilities, which will enable BskyB to uplink their OPEN TV service, the company said.
