Talk America Ordered To Pay Traffix $6.9M

Communications Today, Nov 15, 2001

Integrated communications provider Talk America [TALK] said Tuesday that it has been ordered to pay Traffix, a company that once marketed its services, $6.9 million in an arbitration award.

The award, which is payable in 30 days, resulted from a lawsuit filed by Traffix last year against Talk America alleging that Talk America "unlawfully terminated" the marketing agreement between the two companies.

Talk said it is reviewing its legal alternatives and plans to dispute the award. >TK VoiceStream Wireless [VSTR]: Deutsche Telekom's [DT]: Nextel Communications [NXTL]: Motorola [MOT]:
