Comstat Knocks House Bill
Communications Today, Nov 11, 1999
A U.S. House bill to privatize Intelsat operations would undermine the business of Comsat Corp. [CQ], Comsat spokesman Jay Ziegler said yesterday. The bill, introduced by House Commerce Committee Chairman Thomas Bliley (R-Va.), could move to the floor today. Ziegler said the bill would cap Comsat's revenues and hurt the company's services involving the Internet, broadband and DBS.
Ziegler said Comsat prefers the Senate version.
