FCC Extends Deadline On Nominations For Advisory Committee

Communications Today, Dec 3, 2001

The Federal Communications Commission on Friday extended the deadline until Dec. 5 to receive nominations to fill three vacancies on the agency's Local and State Government Advisory Committee.

The original deadline expired Friday.

The commission said the committee vacancies were created by the departures of current members Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, Albuquerque City Councilman Michael Brasher and Attorney Louise Renne for the city and county of San Francisco.

The committee is comprised of elected and appointed officials of municipal, county, state and tribal governments. It provides advice and information to the FCC on universal service, public safety communications and the removal of barriers to competitive entry. >TK Verizon Communications [VZ]:
