Orbital Sciences Lifts NASA Satellite Into Orbit 370 Miles Above The Earth

Orbital Sciences Corp. [ORB], of Dulles, Va., on Tuesday announced a successful launch of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) High Energy Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI) satellite into its targeted orbit aboard the company's Pegasus rocket.
The scientific satellite was delivered into its orbit approximately 370 miles, or 595 kilometers, above the Earth. The launch originated from Cape Canaveral, Fla., and marked the 31st Pegasus flight, more than any other commercial small launch vehicle, Orbital officials said.
