Lightscape To Supply Optical Equipment To China Unicom

Lightscape Networks, an ECI Telecom [ECIL] company, signed a contract with Zhejiang Unicom, a subsidiary of China Unicom [CHU], to use Lightscape's XDM optical platform in the expansion of its GSM network.
China Unicom is the country's second largest mobile telecom company, and Zhejiang Unicom has 1.3 million subscribers throughout the province of Zhejiang. Eventually, the Zhejiang network will expand to provide full coverage for the cities of Hangzhou, Taizhou and Jiaxing. A key objective for the program is to develop a scalable infrastructure capable of supporting existing customers, accommodating new subscribers and offering a migration path to next-generation services. >TK Nortel Networks [NT]:
