Verizon Joins Metro Ethernet Forum

Communications Today, March 10, 2003

Verizon Communications [NYSE: VZ] and the Rockefeller Group are the newest member of the Metro Ethernet Forum, joining the likes of BellSouth, SBC and France Telecom. Verizon says it already has begun deploying metro Ethernet services in select U.S. markets. Says Ron Young, Forum chairman, "The telecom leadership and stature of Verizon, one of the largest providers of wireless and wireline services in the world, and the Fortune 500 business customer focus of Rockefeller Group's telecommunications services, will enhance our efforts to make metro Ethernet services and transport carrier-class."
