SBC, Yahoo Eye Small Business DSL Market
Communications Today, April 10, 2002
Yahoo [YHOO] and SBC Communications [SBC] have expanded their agreement made last year to offer a co-branded high-speed Internet service. Sometime "late in the year" the two companies will offer co-branded DSL and dial-up Internet services to small businesses, SBC spokesman Michael Coe told Communications Today.
SBC Yahoo small business DSL and dial-up subscribers will receive a premium version of Yahoo, which will include a package of services, such as business class email, Ad Manager (a self-service advertising solution), Business Express (to become part of Yahoo's directory), and finance reporting packages.
Initially, SBC and Yahoo will offer ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) service in SBC's 13-state region. SBC Yahoo dial-up Internet access will be available nationally, Coe added.
