Centillium Partners With Sumitomo To Provide DSL In Japan
Communications Today, April 23, 2002
Centillium Communications [CTLM], a Fremont, Calif.-based provider of broadband communications technology, on Monday inked a partnership deal with Japan's Sumitomo Electric Industries to provide secure DSL technology to carriers in Japan.
Sumitomo will integrate Centillium's Palladia Router chipset technology into its MegaBit Gear series of DSL modems. This combination of products will enable carriers in Japan to offer DSL, security and home networking to consumers through a single piece of customer premises equipment.
Sumitomo said its MegaBit Gear equipment is the most widely deployed ADSL equipment in Japan's broadband access networks.
