Starlabs has stated that it will be quarantining all e-mail passing through its network for 24 hours from midnight on 31 December 1999.

The move is in response to speculation that new viruses will appear at the turn of the millennium as virus-writers attempt to take advantage of the Y2K confusion. Customers will be able to specify the degree of security required, with an option for maximum protection where all e-mails will be blocked.

The system can also keep back certain attachments such as executable files.
